Useful Links
The rule of thumb is that there are very few useful
english-language resources. Where there are OEM repair manuals these
are often poorly translated.
There is a huge russian-language community around Dnepr and Ural
bikes and most of the original sources were written also in russian.
The best way to find information is to either speak that language or
use google translate to search for your specific problem on google
or youtube.
The list of possible links to resources is nearly endless, so here is my curated list of the most useful resources.
Manuals
-
MT10 and MT9 Repair Manual (web/pdf)
The best english-language source publicly available. This manual shows the repair procedures and contains many of the factory tables for correct clearances and interference fits. Download this and keep a copy. There are also print versions of this book available, albeit for a high price (link)

Kotov, Repair of Heavy Soviet
Motorcycles (1987) (pdf)
Kotov, Repair of Heavy Soviet Motorcycles (1986) (djvu)
THE repair manual for Ural and Dnepr motorcycles. Containing factory information and detailed repair instructions. This is the bible of the heavy Soviet motorcycle community.
Мотоциклы Урал, Днепр. Эксплуатация, ремонт (2001) (pdf)
Мотоциклы Урал, Днепр. Эксплуатация, ремонт (2001) (web)
A light version of Kotov, with updated information and more practical modern advice. I have a paper copy of this well thumbed and it is my favourite source for repair information.
Comes in a transcribed html format so that it is easy for web browsers to translate.

MT11 and MT16 Parts Catalogue (pdf)
Illustrated parts catalogue for Dnepr MT11 and MT16 motorcycles -
MT10 and MT9 Parts Catalogue (pdf)
Illustrated parts catalogue for Dnepr MT10 and MT9 (including early MT9) motorcycles

Modern
Bearings and Seals
Scroll to bottom to find the bearing and oil seal numbers for Dnepr and Ural motorcycles. -
Dnepr Torque Values
Written by unknown author, the suggested torque values seem mostly correct. I would one day like to transcribe/translate the values to normal units
Favourite Websites
-
Kolyaska
(PL)
One of the inspirations for my website.
Youtube Channels
-
MotoMetalMind (UA)
My favourite Dnepr channel. Living the philosophy of Dnepr ownership and use.
-
Moto Sancho Dnepr Playlist (BY)
Detailed repair and build of a Dnepr motorcycle.
Moto Sancho is well known for his long distance trips and passion for Ural bikes as well as Soviet bikes in general -
Moto Sancho "Ohlamon" Build (BY)
My favourite build on YT. MotoSancho takes all of his dead and unusable parts and builds a Dnepr/Ural bike with true soul.
I have built a tribute bike in similar style and philosophy here (link).
I am also currently building an Ural engine in the same style made out of thrown away garbage (link)
-
Chetodel Dnepr Build (RU)
My first introduction to Dnepr building and customising. This playlist and channel will always hold special memories for me.
Chetodel has transformed his hobby into a flourishing business (link) and continues to make videos though mostly on the topic of Ural motorcycles
-
Evgeny Bykovski (RU)
Presenting highly technical Dnepr and Ural repair videos with humorous style.
As the man says, read the books, where do you think the youtubers got their info from ?
-
Alex Bondarenko (UA)
Not quite as 'kolhoz' as MotoMetalMind, not quite as professional as Chetodel, Alex shows us the joys of adventures on Dnepr motorcycles that are built to work and be repaired as and when required.
-
Moto GO
Crazy projects from Dnepr turbo-builds to welding two Dnepr engines to make a 4 cylinder Dnepr.
-
Dnepr 7 Continents (UA)
Link to adventures across south Ukraine.
The man's ambition was to adventure across the world on his Dnepr motorcycle and he started at home. The man who knows his country well is ready to experience the world.
Hopefully he will get his chance to do so and I would very much like to meet up one day on a shared journey.
