Introduction
I am a professional electronics engineer, born in Ukraine,
growing up and graduating in the UK.
I have continued my academic career through to PhD level,
specialising in power electronics and diagnosis of machines and
drives. I currently work in the private sector designing
electronics, from fire alarm systems to complex data acquisition and
processing platforms.
Since I was young I wanted my own Dnepr motorcycle and I finally got
my chance in 2020.
In five years my hobby of building, repair and riding Dnepr
motorcycles has gotten to the point where I now own 4 Dnepr bikes,
massive quantities of spare parts and an abundant knoweledge gained
through literature, practical experience and original R&D work.
I have written this website to compille my knoweledge and share it with anyone who might need it.
Dnepr Motorcycles
In this website I will focus primarily on KMZ Dnepr motorcycles. These heavy soviet motorcycles were produced in the Kiev Motorcycle Factory (KMZ) from 1968 and serial production continued through to 1996. Though they share many similarities with K750, M72 and Ural motorcycles both in visual style and some technical aspects, including part compatibility, my website aims to only cover Dnepr motorcycles only.
